This page lists every cookie and storage entry the getovi.in website may set on your device, along with what each one does and how long it persists. For the broader picture of what data we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
1. Before you choose
On your first visit, the site shows a consent banner with two equally-weighted choices: Accept or Decline. Until you make a choice, our analytics tool (PostHog) runs in cookieless mode — no cookies are set, no localStorage identity is stored, and no persistent device id is sent with events. The only entry written before consent is kk_consent itself, after you click one of the two buttons.
2. After you Accept
The following entries are set, all by PostHog (US data centre), via our reverse proxy at v.getovi.in:
-
ph_<projectKey>_posthog— cookie +localStorageentry. Lifetime: 1 year (cookie) / persistent until cleared (localStorage). Purpose: stores the random anonymous device identifier (distinct id) used to stitch your visits across sessions so we can compute funnel metrics. Contains no personal information. The<projectKey>portion is our public PostHog ingest key. - PostHog session storage —
sessionStorageentries (typically prefixedph_). Lifetime: until you close the browser tab. Purpose: short-lived session metadata used by the SDK (e.g. session id, current page-view id) to correlate events within a single browsing session.
3. After you Decline
No PostHog cookies, no localStorage identity, no sessionStorage entries. Aggregate page_viewed and download_clicked events still flow to our analytics so we can count anonymous traffic, but each event is sent as an unkeyed cookieless ping — there is no $device_id and no persistent distinct_id, so we cannot link your visits to each other or to anything else.
4. Always set
-
kk_consent—localStorageentry. Lifetime: persistent until you clear it. Purpose: stores your Accept/Decline choice so we don't show the banner on every visit. This is an essential entry — without it the banner cannot remember your choice — and is set only after you click one of the two buttons.
5. How to change your mind
Click Cookie settings in the footer at the bottom of any page to reopen the banner and pick again. Choosing Decline after a previous Accept clears the existing PostHog cookie and switches the live session back to cookieless tracking — no reload needed. Your new choice persists across sessions.
You can also block v.getovi.in with a content-blocker, or enable Do Not Track in your browser; the site respects DNT and will skip analytics entirely. The site itself continues to work in either case.
6. Third parties
We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Clarity, Sentry, or any advertising networks. The only third-party endpoint involved in analytics is PostHog Inc. (US), reached through our first-party reverse proxy at v.getovi.in. The PostHog dashboard URL (us.posthog.com) is referenced only for SDK-generated dashboard links, not for ingestion.
7. Changes
If we add, remove, or rename a tracker — or change a cookie's lifetime or purpose — we'll update this page and the "Effective" date at the top.
